Amber Farnan

My Story

Amber Farnan makes music for the beautifully overwhelmed, blending the raw closeness of indie-folk confession with modern pop production.

A Queensland Music Award-winning artist with a knack for turning vulnerability into hooks, Farnan’s sound feels both weightless and gut-punching. Growing up in Cooktown, a remote town in Cape York, meant being largely isolated from the music scene, which in turn fuelled her determination to pursue music. Her songwriting pulses with lived experience and restless curiosity, shaped by the planet around her and the unparalleled life experiences she has encountered in her 23 years around the Sun.

Amber has built a reputation for her captivating live performances and opening for acclaimed artists including Missy Higgins, Ben Lee, Stella Donnelly, The Jezebels, Jem Cassar-Daley, Jaguar Jonze, and Katy Steele. She has toured nationally, performed her original music with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and graced the stages of well-regarded Music festivals such as Nannup Music Festival, Airlie Beach Music Festival, Neck of the Woods, and Sugar Drop and is a favourite on the Folk Festival Circuit. Each step carving out a space for her voice - intimate, magnetic and impossible to ignore.
